How It All Started...
Pastors Clyde & Joyce Drake founded Sealy Assembly of God (now CCF) in 1976. Together they laid a foundation of love for the Word of God and trusting for the move of His Spirit. After beginning in the landmark Building in downtown Sealy, the original permanent facility was built on Meyer Street from the ground up by Pastor Clyde and church members in the late 1970's. In the 1980's, Pastors Warren & Cathie Richardson (1984-1991) built on the foundation laid by Pastors Clyde & Joyce.
New Leadership...
In November of 1991, at the age of 28 and 27, Rusty and Anne Griffin were invited to serve as lead pastors at Sealy Assembly. For their first 12 years, Pastors Rusty and Anne worked with the people and leaders of the church to build a culture of discipleship, prayer, and worship. During this season the church's outreach efforts focused on inviting the community to large-scale events such as Easter egg hunts, musical productions, and holiday festivals.
Making New, Making Great...
In 2003, the church changed its name to Christian CityFellowship (CCF), a place where the hungry and thirsty can settle and reap a harvest (Psalm 107:35-38). Construction began on a 40,000 square foot facility which opened March 7, 2004. Building on the already-established culture of discipleship, prayer and worship, CCF sharpened its focus as a place where God is making new and making great.
We Build Big People...
Since moving to the current campus, the church's outreach efforts have transitioned to focus on discipleship through home-based gatherings and classes meeting on campus (Life Groups | Life Classes). We also love hosting our communities while celebrating events such as 4th of July and Family Fall Festival in late October with fireworks as well as Vacation Bible School for kids in the summer. We are thankful for what God has already done and about what He will do in the decades to come!
